Case Study – Mobility profiling for electric vehicles
Until recently, electric vehicles had a rather poor reputation regarding the range they offered. The availability of charging stations was a critical limitation for early adopters of these electric vehicles. The worst thing about these two facts: they stick until today in the consumers’ heads.
FEBIAC, being the representative of car manufacturers and importers, strives to overcome these hurdles and promote eco-efficient mobility. What needs to be done is to ensure the public that range anxiety is a thing of yesterday now that vehicles have strongly evolved and also batteries are from a new generation.
RESOLVING THE “BUT, BUT, BUT….” WITH ACCURATE ASSESSMENT OF YOUR INDIVIDUAL EV TRANSITION POTENTIAL
Recently, many car manufacturers launched new EV models – nevertheless, sales of electric vehicles are only taking up slowly. FEBIAC, as the organizer of the yearly Brussels Motor Show, got in contact with Motion-S, to launch a mobile app that helps car buyers evaluate whether an electric car would satisfy their needs.
AskLee, our mobile companion, was developed based on our platform: integrating our mobile Android and iOS trip detection software (SDKs) in the mobile app and using our platform to calculate accurate eco profiles. The app has collected more than 150 thousand trips covering over 2.5 million km during the past months. It has been a real added value for potential customers in their decision-making process.
Working together with the data science and software engineering team of Motion-S, has speeded up the development of the mobile companion and enabled us to put forward an innovative service being of great value for car manufacturers, importers and dealers but also end customers.

Remember the early days of the pandemic? Cities became ghost towns, and public spaces were no longer public, as everyone locked in to avoid getting infected. COVID has affected most aspects of our lives, and mobility was no different. With work and school going remote and traveling severely limited or outright prohibited, roads emptied. As a result, traffic remained light—even though driving was the only way to get a little taste of the outside world for many. … Read More
