ADDING CONTEXT

DATA AUGMENTATION

To get meaningful insights about mobility data, we are putting data into its particular spatial-temporal context. This contextualization happens in our Data Augmentation phase: first, getting the precise map-based route of a raw trip sent to the platform; second, extracting all possible information layers for each segment of the trip route; and third, consolidating the results in a per-trip based, conforming the augmented trip. During data augmentation, more than 100 different information elements are added to each location and road segment of the trip. 

Raw and matched locations, distance and time, geocoded start and end, points of interest along the trip

Illegal turns & U-turns, illegal directions

Speed limits for cars and trucks at each point of the trip, possible speed at each location of the trip, specific road elements (roundabouts, tunnels, bridges), road types, lane categories, low mobility areas, controlled access locations, limited access roads, type of divider, road roughness index and categories

Slope type and degree, and road curvature radius

Average speed of traffic, average speed of traffic capped by speed limit, free flow speed, and jam factor

All road signage information, including type, category and specific location

General weather information for the duration of the trip, including temperature, humidity, wind, surface conditions, sky status and precipitation levels

PROFILING MODELS

We deliver granulated trip, driver, and fleet-based analytics to support our customers in designing and deploying data-driven products. In that sense, our analytics are aggregated into profiles that provide explanatory elements on how the driving behavior and context impact three different mobility-related aspects: risk assessment, eco-efficiency, and vehicle wear. Our team of research-focused data scientists designed these profiles based on many years of experience in mobility data analytics.

Safety scores, contributory factors frequency contribution to the safety score, list of observed events, UBI pricing multiplier

Eco-driving score, estimated fuel consumption, ideal consumption for the trip, CO2 emissions, presence of EV chargers along the trip, inefficient eco-driving events

Cost reduction by switching to EV, autonomy in number of days and trips without charging, number of EV-charged passed by and proximity, suggested battery size, carbon reduction estimation
